How many devices can I connect to the UPS?
The maximum supported load depends on UPS power size.
The sum of absorptions for each connected device, expressed in Watt, must not exceed the maximum value allowed by the UPS.
For best working it’s suggested not to apply more than 80% of the UPS maximum supported load.
Can I connect active PFC power supplies to the UPS?
Epyc made the Ion series in order to support APFC equipped computers: these UPSs are perfectly compatible with APFC power supplies thanks to the Pulse Width Modulation (PWM) technology.
The other Epyc UPSs need to be oversized to support this particular kind of load.
Can I connect a power strip to the UPS?
You can connect any kind of power strip or surge suppressor to the UPS, provided that the wire is no more than 1.5 meters long.
Is it possible to install the UPS outdoor?
Epyc UPSs are designed to be installed indoor only.
Air temperature must be between 0°C and 40°C (25°C is the ideal temperature), and ambient humidity must be less than 90%.
Can I use the UPS just after receiving it?
The UPS may be used immediately upon receipt. However, recharging batteries for at least 8 hours is recommended to ensure that the batteries maximum capacity is achieved. To recharge batteries, simply leave the unit plugged into an AC outlet.
If you are not using UPS for long time it’s necessary to charge batteries every three months, so to ensure their maximum life.
How can I monitor the UPS status?
You can easily check the UPS status through the monitoring software, which can be downloaded free from your UPS web page.
The software also allows you to setup the auto-shutdown options.
Which Operating Systems are supported by the monitoring software?
Epyc provides two different management software, depending on the operating system supplied. For Windows and Linux systems the Power Guide software is available, for MacOS systems the Power Master software is available.
Can UPS batteries be replaced?
Batteries may only be replaced by experienced and well-trained personnel, using all necessary precautions. When replacing batteries, replace with the same type and in the same number of the original equipment.
Are Epyc UPSs compliant with current environmental regulations?
All Epyc products meet the standards on quality and safety of electrical and electronic components set by the REACH and RoHS european directives.
How can I dispose the UPS at the end of its life?
Epyc complies to disposal rules about waste electrical and electronic equipment (WEEE) by registering to Cobat italian institute. In this way any user can dispose of the UPS in its country recycling point, without any additional cost.
